What Tarot Can Be

“The tarot serves us as a pack of possibilities, a divination of the divine, a dynamic reflection of the psyche, a search engine of the soul, a GPS of the spiritual journey, and a mirror of our dreams. In coming face to face with the seventy-eight images of a tarot deck, we are only coming face to face with ourselves.

We may be surprised, then, to see in those very depths the same heights our soul seeks, reflected endlessly in a single universal face – one with the seventy-eight diverse expressions of a tarot deck.”

I just had the coolest reading (as a client) … this blog has a three card reading where you pick the card after focusing on the question, and then you see the message if you scroll down. Mine NAILED IT for me.

Here is the link:

I won’t post my card pic or the meaning; I don’t want to create any spoilers for anyone who does it for themselves.

Excellent Reader and site; she is also Biddy Certified and I’d recommend her to anyone that is looking for Tarot readings, Reiki treatments, or the various other services she offers! Her email is in the logo below:

And here is The Readings Page also. Awesome set up.

Test Reading: Last Paycheck

Testing for accuracy. Test Running a spread. Also shows the thought process behind my readings. Shows how the Tarot can be applied as a tool to the simplest of situations and questions. This is why I only charge 5US$ sometimes, depending upon the simplicity of the question.

Thoughts and Interpretations from readers welcome!!!

The Question is “Is my (missing) paycheck forthcoming soon (in the mail, etc.) and I just don’t know it?”

I didn’t think to clarify as I was shuffling that “is it forthcoming without my having to call HR first?” So I may have to do this again.

I did a Three Card Spread:

1. Truth of the Situation
2. What I Need to Know
3. Answer

I pulled the cards that are shown below:

1. King of Wands
2. Queen of Pentacles
3. Nine of Cups

The Answer to the Question

So, of course, the first thing I looked at was the Nine of Cups as the Answer card, and it’s a great card for a Yes/No question, most usually means a resounding “YES!” So I”m happy with that. I take that to mean my MIA paycheck is on the way and I’m just not aware of it yet.

So maybe check is in mail, or maybe I have to go up and get it, who knows. I’m double checking on that now.

The Nine of Cups is a smug, happy guy; he’s gotten what he wants. That bodes well for me in this case.

Truth of Situation

The next card I look at is the first one, the Truth of the Situation, the King of Wands.

The first things that pop into my mind are that Kings are about Authority, and Wands are about Passionate Feelings. This King is angled away from the viewer with his left arm presenting. The left arm is controlled by the right brain. (Which is how I deal with Left and Right sides symbolism in my readings.) The Right Brain deals with intuition, spirituality, Creativity, the Arts, etc. This King is sitting and just thinking about things, or about something.

He’s not about action yet. He’s not using his Fire actively or externally yet; he is more contemplating what he should do for the moment. I’d say that’s accurate to what I am doing right now. I didn’t see my pay deposited Friday; I waited til today (Monday) to see if maybe it was in the mailbox before taking any action, and now I am contacting employer to see if maybe I was supposed to go pick up and I just didn’t know it.

It’s worth noting that he holds his Wand in his Right Hand, denoting the Left Brain and Logic/Reason. When he does take action, it will be logic ruled. This also is accurate for me.

Sometimes the Truth card will tell you Truths you are not aware of. So far, this one is only telling me where I am on my part, which I already know, but which validates that I shuffled effectively and that the rest of this spread is most likely accurate as well. Which is always nice to know.

This King has a lot of power but also a lot of self control, as all the Kings do. This tells me that I am handling this situation in the right manner and that I”m right to evaluate before taking action.

Finally, this King if facing away from the Nine of Cups. He’s not focused yet on making his desires manifest. He’s more waiting and seeing if the situation will rectify itself before wasting time and energy trying to force the issue. Again, this is accurate for my frame of mind and response.

What I Need to Know

And finally we have the Queen of Pentacles in the What I Need to Know position.

The first thing that comes to mind with her is that she also, is facing away from the Nine of Cups. Does this mean I”m too overly focused on my material security? More than I need to be, perhaps? This Queen has a very fertile kingdom but she doesn’t realize the Nine of Cups is right there next to her, it seems like. She’s angled towards the King of Wands, who is contemplating what action to take. The rabbit, a symbol of fertility, is also not just pointed away from the Nine of Cups, but actively running away from him.

Which does reinforce for me, the feeling that this may be advice to not worry and that worry is needless. No one in this card is acknowledging the Nine of Cups at all. They’re not seeing that it will be resolved very satisfactorily. They’re very comfortable and in no danger of poverty in this card. This Queen is also looking down at the huge pentacle she holds in her lap, which to me also could be a symbol of focusing too exclusively on material security. She’s not even looking at the rabbit, much less at the Nine of Cups. She’s not looking at anything around her. Just the pentacle in her lap. The over-sized pentacle in her lap.

So as far as I can tell, What I Need to Know most likely means “Stop worrying.”

And again, a look at their comparative positions to one another:

This spread is made of three different elements, which means it’s fairly well balanced. The only element lacking is the Swords, which means I may be focusing too much with my emotions, my passionate feelings, and my material concern than with any kind of overtly logical thought. Though I picked up on “logic” when I was looking at the King of Wands, so that makes me not too concerned about that.

The summary would be that waiting is fine, nothing is in any peril, and it will work out in the end. Which tells me to go ahead and wait til I hear back from my employer regarding my inquiry about it. If I don’t hear back from them, say, by Friday, I will go ahead and call HR. In which case, it will certainly be the Nine of Cups in the end, because I KNOW HR will resolve this if the individual store does not.

So we’ll see how accurate this pans out to be as the situation unfolds.

And if anyone else has any thoughts to offer, please do!

Within Today’s Bank Balance

Taken from Joanne Walmsley Sacred Scribes Australia (My notes in brown italics):

Number 55 carries the vibrations of adventure and versatility, curiosity, facing challenges, learning life lessons through experience, auspicious opportunities, idealism and activity, making positive life choices and important changes. (My note: The Fool in the Tarot, which just came up this morning as one of the energies that will be or are the staples of my financial wellbeing)
Angel Number 55 is a message from your angels (or guides, inner guidance, etc.) that it is time to let go of the ‘old’ that is no longer positively serving you, and get ready for big changes to take place in your life. Release old doubts, fears and perceived obstacles and look forward to wonderful new opportunities. (The Six of Swords that also turned up this morning as one of the staple energies that make up my financial well being. If the next paragraph turns out to mirror the Justice card I will pee my pants. Of course – I’m older – the odds of my peeing myself are very high at any given time anyway, so truthfully … that wouldn’t be any great spiritual guidance from above striking like lightning)

55 angel number virtue

Angel Number 55 tells you to keep a positive attitude about the ‘new’ entering your life and keep an open mind as to the opportunities presenting to you. Keep in mind that everything happens for a reason and nothing happens by chance, so even though the reason/s for the changes may not be clear at this point, trust that all will fall into place for you. These changes have come about so that you can break free from old restraints and constraints and freely pursue your soul mission and life purpose as a spiritual being.

The angels ask that you cast off old shackles and constraints, be true to yourself and live your life with passion (one of the things that came up in my Fool card, actually all through all three cards, in the color red that presented in all three – “the energy that propels me”) and purpose(“the energy that propels me – propels ALL OF US).

Be prepared for huge changes when repeating Angel Number 55 appears.

Number 55 also relates to number 1 (5+5=10, 1+0=1) and Angel Number 1(I hadn’t thought about this or even been aware of doubling the number and then seeing what that    comes down to.)

My Gematria expert friend no longer has her blog on WordPress; I need to get into my email and track her down!

Reading for A
Radiant Rider Waite deck
Dec. 2018

“I started my own business about 12 months ago. So far, it has only generated $10,000 which is way off my target of $50,000. What am I doing wrong? Should I just quit now? Or is there some hope?”Sample reading spread 2 for kaleidoscope

The Spread:

  • What is coming into your conscious awareness about your business? Two of Wands reversed*
  • What successes do you need to acknowledge so far in your business? Death reversed*
  • What have you learned in the past 12 months in your business? Ace of Cups reversed*
  • In what areas can you grow your business even more? Ace of Wands
  • What action can you take right now to bring you closer to your goals? Seven of Cups
  • What might you experience in your business over the next 12 months if you stick with it? Emperor

First I’d like to ask you why you consider 10,000$ a failure just because it’s not your target range? You’ve only been doing this a year and you’ve brought in that much? I’d consider that a success so far, considering that it takes YEARS for new businesses to get off the ground. I personally don’t think you are doing anything wrong! And there certainly IS some hope considering you’re off to a great start! So I’m curious to know how “only generating 10,000$” is an issue for you.

The numerology of your reading is a 28 which condenses down to a 1. One is the number of Creation! You are in the beginning process of this venture, even if you feel like it has been a whole year, and “Beginning” is the word you need to remember. You are just at the beginning, barely out the gate, and have so much further to go. If you’ve already brought in 10,000$, and you are at the position of the number ONE … think what it will be like later on! Take heart – you’ve only just begun. Your gains may not be what you want them to be, but they are plenty significant for this time and place in your business.

But let’s take a look at the cards that have come up for the spread we designed for you:

It looks like your main issue is possibly in your perspective; this is an internal blockage, not an external one. The good news is that it looks like you will successfully resolve these internal dilemmas and be able to move forward with more optimism and feeling of control.

Your first three cards are reversed and this is what indicates to me that if there IS something you can do differently, it’s as simple as changing the way you are looking at things.

Death Rev RadiantDeath reversed comes up as a success that you need to acknowledge so far – that’s pretty amazing. You not only started a business (from scratch it looks like),and have built it thus far from the ground up, but you have also changed your entire life to accomplish this. You’ve sacrificed things, some of them huge in your life, in order to accomplish this. And you contemplate quitting???

2 wands radiant revThe Two of Wands reversed speaks to me of someone who is just realizing what a huge undertaking this is. I feel like you may have just started to truly realize the commitment, investment, and risks involved, and that this may be giving you the cold feet you are experiencing now. I feel like it’s an “Oh my gosh, what have I done? I can’t do this!” feeling in you. This, paired with adjusting to the fact that you have upended your entire LIFE to put this into motion, is majorly contributing to your panic at this time. Your business is not in distress. YOU are.ace cups radiant rev

But you have also learned lately (in the Ace of Cups reversed, that this is where your true fulfillment lies. This business is your passion and joy. This is a great thing, and something you should pay attention to. If this is something you have FUN doing, and it’s passion driven, it’s most likely GOING TO SUCCEED. Allow it to grow freely, you cannot go wrong when you are following your passion.

And in fact, in answer to the question about growing your business even more (in the ace wands radiantAce of Wands), FOLLOW THIS JOYFUL PATH. Keep doing what makes you feel so GREAT in this venture, and I think you will be very pleased a year from NOW, at the results. Keep bringing that internal passion into your physical life the way you have been. Stay connected to and true to what your passions and joys ARE, as you have already been doing so well! Keep brainstorming when you are mentally stuck, and possibly invest some time and money in going on available retreats.

I live in a very small community but even we have holistic businesses here that offer very affordable retreats. Pick a topic or them you are interested in, and sign up, even for just a day long one. I feel like looking inside is going to work really well for you in growing your business. Because the energy that drives it, is coming from there.

ace cups radiant revAlso, in looking at the Ace of Cups card upside down, it’s very clear visually that this endeavor is book-ended by divine providence. It IS supported by the universe or whatever higher power you believe in. You are not alone in it. You have divine assistance.

As a final note, these two Aces are RIGHT NEXT TO EACH OTHER. At the least, this emphasizes what I just advocated … taking “what you have learned” and applying it to “growing your business even more.”

ace cups rev ace wands.jpg

An action that you can take at this very moment to bring you closer to your goals is to look very carefully at all the diverse choices presented to you at this time. It looks as though some are viable, and some may not be. You have so many before you at this time that it may be confusing to consider them all at the same time.

7 cups radiantYou may do well to make lists of pros and cons of all your options when you are presented with choices between them that you must make. All are “in the ether” so to speak, at this moment. Choose wisely which ones to make manifest in the physical realm.

This card (the Seven of Cups) reminds me of when I give my 7 year old (lol @ the synchronicity) … a total choice of what candy and/or toys he sees in a store. It’s too much for him and overloads his thought process. For him, it’s best if I limit his choices sometimes. It’s possible that it may work well for you to limit the number of options you think about at any given time when decision making. Like, only consider two at a time or something.

When you’ve decided between them, take the “winner” and consider that against another one. Or come up with a similar way to hone in on what’s important. Make a list of your goals or priorities and use it to weed out opportunities when you’re presented with too many at once. These types of things may help you in your decision making process.

emperor radiant.jpgAnd what you might experience in your business over the next 12 months if you stick with it? Total domination, total confidence, and total satisfaction. Or at least as close to that as you can come with your particular personality. The Emperor is an excellent card for an outcome. If you can learn to pace yourself, to not beat up on yourself unnecessarily, you have the ability to be completely satisfied with your professional progress. This business has the potential to be incredibly successful. The Emperor sits at number 4 numerologically, and that is about as stable and firm as a foundation can GET.Death Rev Radiant

One last note: the endings and transformations that you put into practice last year in order to begin your business … they are somehow another key to how to grow your business even more now in the present. I don’t know exactly what you did last year that entailed sacrificing something and ending something … but you do. Give some thought to how those things connect to growing your business more in the here and now. They are connected to one another.

I wish you success and blessings in your ad-venture!

“I’m going on a trip . . . “

* posted with permission

(“I am going on an overseas trip in November and would be grateful for any insight as to how the trip will go.”)

Per our discussion, I’ve used the Biddy Three Card Spread #2: 1. What Will Help You in your Journey’s Goals,2. What Will Hinder You in Your Journey’s Goals, and 3. What is an Unrealized Potential Inherent in this Journey. Here is what came up for you:

Three cards actually fell out of the deck while I was shuffling, one by one. So I stopped shuffling and will go forward with the assumption that these are the three you need to see:

  1. What Will Help You in your Journey’s Goals?
    The Chariot
  2. What Will Hinder You in Your Journey’s Goals?
    Ace of Swords
  3. What is an Unrealized Potential Inherent in this Journey?
    Two of Cups

jim spread test.jpg

The journey itself will help in some way. It seems to be a solution in and of itself. So if the decision to take this trip was a result of an issue or challenge … it would appear that the decision was a good one. Is this a spiritual journey of some kind? A pilgrimage or something, so to speak? Also, are you looking to meet someone romantically while you are abroad? This journey is a beginning of sorts. It’s intent is to begin something.

Over thinking may hinder your goals during this trip (Ace of Swords). It’s dark in this

ace swords radiant.jpg

card, but the sword illuminates the landscape. The crown symbolizes mastery of some kind, which implies domination. So this may not just be speaking of over thinking but also of … I feel like an obsession or obsessive behaviour in trying to accomplish this mastery or goal. This is the second card in your reading, but I felt intuitively drawn to read it first.

I can’t tell if the ground is mountains or waves from an ocean but the phrase “rocky crags” popped into my head when I wondered about it. I feel like this mastery, this goal that you are seeking to accomplish, either has been difficult in attaining in the past or that it will be challenging in the present and future. Or both. “It has not been easy,” comes to mind. But the light from the Divine hand wielding the sword actually touches this ground, it comes into direct contact with some of it, or at least appears to. So – there will be  – some sort of comfort and assistance along the way. It will be “softened” for you. The way will be softened for you.

It is possible this can also mean in a literal sense, that your journey will literally have some bumps along the way, but that they will be mitigated by some outside force or persons.

Chariot radiant

What will help – as I said, the journey itself is the biggest help in the achievement of your goals at this time. The decision to take the journey is invaluable to the pursuit of your goals. The man in this card (the Chariot) wears a crown very similar to the one in the Ace of Swords, even down to the garland woven into it. (The people in the Two of Cups also have garlands on their heads).  The mastery you strive so hard for in the Ace of Swords – it is possible you already possess it, or more of it than you believe. It is possible that the “over thinking” I picked up on in that card is referring to a redundant thinking or acting. You may be striving for a mastery you already possess. Keep this in mind. Have you stopped to assess where you are in your goals since you first started working towards them? It is possible you are further along than you think.

There may also be a competitiveness in your personality … that is both a strength and a weakness. It will be up to you to maintain a balance that will help that trait to help you, rather than hinder you. It shows up in both these cards so  right now it is both helping and hindering your cause. You may do well to  meditate or think about which ways your drive and competitiveness assist you closer to your goals, and which ways you would do better to rein them in at times. Again, this will be on you to do. This isn’t something anyone else can do for you.

The person in the Chariot has already conquered much; you can see it in the city behind him. And now he is (you are) on your way to the next challenge. You are balanced in your drive for the most part, just keep it in mind to make sure it stays that way. You’re very success driven.

2 cups radiant

After reading the first two cards, I feel like this card (Two of Cups)represents the balancing act I spoke of earlier. Balancing your competitiveness as both your weakness and your strength. Balancing your self esteem with actual reality of what you’ve accomplished and what you deserve to reward yourself for, or at least sit for  a moment and pat yourself on the back.

The winged lion in this card mirrors the winged sphere in the Chariot, the symbol that flies at the front of the Chariot as if it’s a proclamation of who the person is, or what he stands for. It’s like a masthead or a coat of arms, or a flag, similar to those things. It’s a symbol of where you are. Given this symbol’s position in both cards, it seems to be saying that you will find success in whatever you do by keeping the truth of who you are in front of you and over you, guiding all that you do.

As untapped potential, this card represents as I said, the learning curve of your balancing acts. Balancing the inner aspects of your Self towards the attainment of your goals.

So in summary, this is what this journey holds for you.

Things to look out for are over thinking things, wasting time trying to conquer things you have already mastered, watching possible obsessive behaviour patterns, and knowing ahead of time that you may have some rocky ground to navigate, and being ready and willing to take it on. Being sure to balance your competitiveness with what is actually needed to take action on. REWARD yourself for WHAT YOU HAVE ALREADY ACCOMPLISHED and then LET THE FIGHT FOR THOSE THINGS GO. Lean on the assistance that is offered you. There are crowns, and garlands, and laurels, “halos,” and wings all over these cards. Start taking a look at what you’ve already accomplished and the amazing being that you already are.

Some things that are already helping that you should keep doing: Keep exploring new ground, keep being true to your Self and your goals and values. Keep who you are in front of you at all times.
